Has any one ever heard of Foam filled tires? I haven't but this guy is selling these and I'm in need of some good tires for the winter (cleveland winters can be horrible).

89cherkeelimited is running on foam filled 33s. He claims the 2 disadvantages are a rougher ride and not being able to air down for trail use.

We use them at work on rough terrain forklifts. You never get a flat tire. Thats about all i know.

I have used foam filed tires on equipment. It is true you don't get flats. But the tire also does not flex, no sidewall squish at all. So they ride rougher, but the big thing in my opinion that detracts from using this is a smaller foot print, which is an issue in snow and ice driving. I would stick with air in the tire.

i've heard of it on heavy equipment but never on a dd or trail rig

I tried foam in my 410e-Did very well for traction and puncture resistance, keep in mind this is a 4 wheel drive backhoe- However it rode on pavement like the tires were made of steel. I say stay away from them!

We used them in the military on our armored swat vehicle. Definetly a rough ride, but then again that vehicle was heavy anyway.
