I know alot of people say straight piping it sounds good but i did it to mine then immediately put it right back to what i had, way too loud. alot of people also say they wont get pulled over cuz its not "loud" enough, but thats a load of BS and you will get pulled over, its just a matter of time for the po po to see u and HEAR you...

i think alabama doesn't require inspections either.
texas is so funny on its safety inspections. depending on what county you are from decides whether you will be emission checked and also how much of a check they do.
houston and san antonio have sniffers for the tail pipe while corpus is a visual only city. as long as they cannot see the leak from outside the car, it passes. some guys will get mad and try to not give you your inspection sticker if they hear a leak but if you make them open the regulation, it says it fails only if they can see the leak while looking from the sides of the car. as you can tell, i have owned 4.0 I6 powered jeeps before

oh ya, corpus is a really crooked town, especially city hall. but you can get away with tons of stuff on your cars. i used to take my karmann ghia and get it safety inspected and the tail lights didn't work at all. nothing

I've only got a cat on mine and a side pipe that comes out just behind the rear passenger door. It sounds pretty good, nothing compared to my 83 S-15 that was straight piped
, but still a good rumble. I've never gotten a noise ticket, but my friends girlfriend burnt her leg on the tip. i'm still not sure how she managed to tuck her leg UNDER the car when she was getting out...
