I know alot of people say straight piping it sounds good but i did it to mine then immediately put it right back to what i had, way too loud. alot of people also say they wont get pulled over cuz its not "loud" enough, but thats a load of BS and you will get pulled over, its just a matter of time for the po po to see u and HEAR you...

i think alabama doesn't require inspections either.

texas is so funny on its safety inspections. depending on what county you are from decides whether you will be emission checked and also how much of a check they do.

houston and san antonio have sniffers for the tail pipe while corpus is a visual only city. as long as they cannot see the leak from outside the car, it passes. some guys will get mad and try to not give you your inspection sticker if they hear a leak but if you make them open the regulation, it says it fails only if they can see the leak while looking from the sides of the car. as you can tell, i have owned 4.0 I6 powered jeeps before

well as a former Texas resident for over 20 years I never got in any trouble, and on my Trans Am I have no cats and 2 cutouts behind the longtubes, on the jeep I have a gutted cat and on a old 82 Chevy C10 that I had first had no exhaust and I drove it around with dumps after the headers, then I got some exhaust and had it exit after the cab

Never had problems, even in El Paso which has the same emissions as Houston

yikes Corpus Christi, I lived there for a while, talk about crap town USA got out of there as fast as I could. I had a guy deny me the inspection sticker there in Corpus because he could "hear" a leak, which wasnt a leak at all the noise he heard was my roller rockers on my T/A

oh ya, corpus is a really crooked town, especially city hall. but you can get away with tons of stuff on your cars. i used to take my karmann ghia and get it safety inspected and the tail lights didn't work at all. nothing

huh really? i tucked mine in so it doesnt get the door sil hot but if you stand on the side you can just see it. and yes after i put the glasspack on i noticed a big difference in torque. but i really like have the side pipe because if you are behind me its not too loud... unless im close to a building or in an alley than its loud everywhere
