Give it time to break in, should sound better in a couple days depending on how much you drive

Flowmasters usually take a while to break in...also depends on the diameter of the tubing you went with and if you left it fully in tact or dumped it before the axle.

It's fully welded. Only 25 miles on it and its the correct way. Yes it's dumped at the rear axle but its very clean the way the guy do it with a nice turn down and everything. Ill give it time to break in it looks like. Never knew a muffler needed a break in period

I don't quite understand "break-in" either on a FlowMaster muff.......there's no packing material (fiberglass, ceramic, etc.), just some steel deflectors at various angles. Nothing to "break-in" but it must be installed correctly (specific inlet/outlet) and not reversed.

They DO break in. "Soot" or whatever must build up on the deflectors and change the way they deflect sound. Ive had probably 20 diff Flowmasters on everything from an 87 Z24 to a NASTY 89 IROC. They get louder and more "lumpy" sounding w age for certain

Ill be sea foaming it this week. Plenty of soot then lol. So you guys don't think it's because it dumps at the rear axle

If it's a rattling sound I would venture to say one of the baffles welds has broken

Only a small amount of soot will collect, then flake off and out the tail pipe it goes. If there's a rattle, something is loose. Any turn-down under the vehicle will be louder than a rear or side exit. Sound waves hit the ground/pavement and bounce back up to the bottom of the vehicle.

Ugghhh slow masters. None of them sound good. They drone, restrict flow, and sound crappy. It will get louder over time bc the chambers wear down
