if all u have is small holes old licens plates pop rivits and black rtv make great patches but if they are anything like min and both sides are almost gone i just found so old sheet metal and cut out all the bad stuff makin sure not to cut anything structural and cut the pieces close to size welded in one side and beat them to fit wit a hammer and the welded it all down. finally i undercoated the whole thing so it wont rust again.

This is the time of year when a few Whoops! I slid on the ice can net ya some repair panels.
Every XJ is worth saving. I like them. Hell, I've always wondered about how much more power the 4.0L has without the parasitic loss of the Transfer Case on it and all the extra weight...

The mildew is in the carpet, eseist fix is to take it out and redo the floor with some bedliner, who needs carpet it just gets smelly

next time it gets wet just put a box fan on the pass front window and open the pass rear window about 2in tnd leave it over night and it will be dry and most of the smell will be gone

check the vents/weather stripping at the bottom of the outside of the windshield, there may be a leak into the cabin. mustangs had the same problem for a long time. often leads to rusted out floor boards.
