After talking with a few guys over the weekend the subject of unibody flex came up. As I'm in the process of installing a small lift on the truck and the fact it is a few years old at this point has anyone noticed that their XJ (4door) has started to deteriorate structurally due to flex? Is this something that should be addressed by stiffining the unibody?

 

not necessary unless you start hacking up body panels. Some people fab up stiffeners to go along the frame rails but you should be fine.

 

If you are worried add some stiffeners. It won't hurt anything.... only make it better.

 

x2 add stiffeners if you are worried. But i wheel my 2 door doorless and have not had any issues. and i wheel mine hard

eh everyone has their own opinion about things too, it would be boring if we all did things the same way with our xjs right?
