2001 XJ Sport. 4WD. Flashers will start to blink and after several seconds will suddenly stop. Dashboard and bumpers will stay lit. Front and rear are affected. Hazzards the same thing. Will have to manually blink after that to show turn signal. Any suggestions?

Have you tried swapping out your turn signal flasher under the dash. They're like $7 at a parts store.

i poked around under there could not find one. I remember those silver cylinder shaped plugs but did not know if this model had one. I had one on my old CJ but that was a 1985. I ducked under to try and find what makes the clicking sound but had no luck.

Mines a 92 and idk what setup your fuse panel is like. But your right. It'll be round or square

On mine I have 2. One for blinkers and one for hazards. Yours might be combined into one (hence both doing the same thing at the same time)

Here's a picture of mine

That was the problem. The Guys in Green had the part. Here's the part on the 2001.
