The driver's seat has tearing on the side vinyl, revealing this white cotton stuff. I'd like to seal it up somehow (hopefully as classy looking as possible.)

Have any of you dealt with something that looked like this?

And are there any products out there other than duct tape that'll do a good job of keeping the innerds from coming out eventually?

What other jeep models are compatible with XJ's? I have the same damage on my seat.

Grand Cherokee seats are supposed to fit and bolt right in, and are much more comfortable. And around here at least there are a lot more of them in the JY for scrounging off of. ;-)

I have 1 crack in the same spot. I really don't want another seat as it's the only flaw in my XJ's interior. I am also interested in a cheap, good looking fix. Anybody ever use the putty stuff you mix and then apply and put a texture "thing" on it, then take it off and dries, they used to advertise them years ago on TV for fixing, vinyl, leather, your fur-less cat, etc.

if you go to the parts store you can get that vinyl fix stuff thats like a putty you melt on it works ok but hard to find the right color sometimes

And looks tacky...might as well slap some duck tape on it..

Easiest thing is to just replace it. No matter what you do to fix that, it will come back/tear again. It is a very common thing on those seats.

Mine rip is exactly like that. I used duck tape, but new seats or at least covers are probably in my future.

i've got an idea. anyone that was or is in the military is familiar with 550 cord. well just stitch that baby up with some of that. a single strand of it is rated at over 500lb break strength. it'll hold!! and it'll look damn cool. wait till you guys see the shifter i'm making for mine!!
