Default first start up in over a year.

i havent started my jeep in over a year. what are some things i should do to it before i start it.. no battery in it. and the gas tank is bone dry. belt and hoses appear to be good. but i might need to flush the rad. but that i can do later. would it be a god idea to change the plugs wires cap and rotor. and change the oil before i start it.. and should i clean the injectors.

I would drain the oil and tranny fluid and replace it both with clean oil and fluid. You do not want that old crap circulating back through the tranny and motor. Another suggestion s you might heat up the bottom of the oil and tranny pans to loosen the oil so you can get most of the crap out. The most important thing is changing the fluids period. You have 1 yr of fluids gellin up and so on..

You could do that and it would help for sure. Also make sure you turn the key to on a few times to allow the fuel pump to properly prime.

Also might consider changing the fuel filter..

Should be fine I would think..My jeep sat for over 2 years when I bought it..Only thing that crapped out is the motor since the owner started it with crappy old oil in it..

you can pull the plugs and turn the engine with the starter to get some oil flowing.

I would change the engine oil only and refill whatever components are dry. Sitting is the worst possible thing you can do to a truck, so don't be surprised to find it now needs more work than the last time you had it going.

When you add fuel, drop in some seafoam engine cleaner. You'll be lucky if your injection system is not completely gummed up from sitting dry. Happened to my explorer, and that ultimately was it's demise.
