Finally got my brakes working so I drove it to town to get aligned and I have got some mean vibes 30-35mph but its not bad at 60. I already put in 4* shims, so now I'll try a t-case drop until I can do the porc sye/jy front shaft. Is there a year range to get the correct front shaft to use in the back? I'm confident I can get this taken care of but....
What I'm worried about is when I would let off the gas completely I was getting a real bad vibration-almost sounded like grinding- coming from the FRONT end! It only does it for about half a second then stops. Any ideas on this? Bad u-joints or cv? Can a guy rebuild the cv joint? I expected rear vibes, but front???
Also, I read somewhere on here to have the alignment shop set it at min caster and max camber, or vise versa? I didn't feel bumpsteer on the short drive in, so I don't know what to tell them.

Your track bar may need to be realigned... Also since you are getting rear drive line vibes you could have knocked a motor mount loose they are just bushing there.

You may not need those 4* shims or you may need more. Do the T/C drop and see if that helps for now.
As to the frontend grinding check the dust sheilds as they are pretty flimsey and get bent easily, and may be scrubbing your rotors.

Track bar realigned? I moved it over the 3/4 in, is the alignment shop going to do what you're talking about?

No need to be sorry, i didn't mention that I did it! Is there any reason I can't just make the t-c drop out of some 1" steel with two holes? Thats all they look like to me in pictures. I suppose I would need longer metric bolts too.

Nope I didn't know that...so they have bolt heads, but no threads? How does that work? I apparently didn't look too closely and assumed they were just bolts. I have a hot wrench that might come in handy.
