I've had a small leak on my oil adapter.. wanted to fix it when I had my pan out/oil drained but it took me til now to figure out the torx60 bit with the limited spacing. I wanted to fix the leak and check for clogs and such.

However. Someone must have tried/worked on it before and stripped the female part to remove the oil adpater. Any suggestions on how to remove it?? I'm figuring I need a new one but thought I'd throw it out there in case.

A couple threads on here about getting that filter adapter off, including the Torx access etc.

I used a short pipe wrench to break mine loose enough to use the Torx (# 60) bit to unscrew it the rest of the way. If your recess for the bit is messed up, you may have to use Channel Lock pliars to finish un-screwing it. Mine turned a bit hard from the drag of the O rings in there.

You will likely need a new part ( if it's available ? ) or have a nut welded on it for grip, in place of the recess that's stripped.

Get the new O rings before you take it apart...
