where does everyone mount their fire extinguishers? i was given one as a gift and trying to figure out where to mount it...

i was just thinking the same thing, i just picked one up from napa. i want a big one to mount in the back and than a smaller to mount to the pillar on either the drivers or pass. side. im sure if you secure it good enough it wont go flying in a wreck.

i have two and my 4cell Maglite is mounted now on the drivers side A-piller
the first one (wow this pic is old)

One on the drivers side rear quarter. Another right next to my E-brake.

I was actually thinking either drivers or passengers front pillar, i held it there and doesnt seem like it would be in the way much...

these are cheap kidde fire extinguishers from wal-mart, they are about $14/ea they come with mounting brackets (they work, but are flimsy)

if you must buy a kidde brand, check them at least once a month. the are junk and are know for discharging prematurely. amerex or ansul is a good brand but prolly 2-3 time higher in price

been using these for 3 years. never a problem, even used one last year and decided i need two because they dont spray much out.

i got my extinguishers all mounted up today. did the same thing xj-scott did. they came with some chinsy brackets so im gonna have to fab something up to keep them nice and tight. also mounted up my mag lite in the back on the oppositte side of the extinguisher. but im sure you have plenty of ideas by now.

mines to the left of my seat. in arms reach in case i ever need it. nothing is worse than needing something and having to dig around for it.
