Figuring out MPG on Lifted XJ - Everyone Tip In!
Set Up : 01 XJ 4.5" Lift with 33x12.5r15 Kevlar's
MPG City - 185
Highway - 200
Tune up, Fuel, Injectors, Possible everything is done right, It is driven like an old lady. I have not change the speedo gear so my speed is off with the tack. Going to use a GPS to find out what I'm actually getting!
What is every one else getting?

Have you changed your stock axle ratios or still running 3.55?
BTW, your corrected mileage is 218.6 city and 236.36 highway which is pretty crappy. Assuming you're like most everyone else and can only fit about 17 gallons on a fill up, that comes out to about 13 city and 14 highway. I would expect to see a bigger difference between your city and highway mileage. I think there's something wrong with your Jeep or your numbers.

Get multiple GPS readings and go from there. Don't try to extrapolate your mileage by the miles you get per tank. Not a very accurate way to go...

My 99 with AT, 31s, 4.5" lift and 3.55gears gets about 16mpg in mixed 2wd driving and 13mpg in 4wd. About 18 or 19 mpg if I drive on the highway iirc but I don't do that enough to get any real numbers. I take an average of the total mileage I drive between fill-ups and the amount of gas I add each time over at least 5 tanks before I trust the number to be close to real. I have not adjusted for the slightly larger tires, so I'm sure I'm off a little from that. Some of my stuff is still of unknown age/quality though since it's a new-to-me 99, like coil, diff. lube & injectors. It's a work-in-progress schedule that is directly tied to my rate-of-pay!
