The Grabbers aren't a bad overall tire either. General used to suck, but in recent years they're really starting to step up their game, and the Grabber is proof.

Can't go wrong with Goodyear though. (even though the Authority is a cheap-o version made soley for Walmart/Costco)

I have the authorities from walmart. The reason they're cheap is because Goodyear has a contract to make massive quantities of tires so walmart can sell them cheaper. They are not a low quality tire. They have excellent traction in mud and have a nice growl on the road. Highly recommended

Their lineup got a lot better after being taken over by Continental Tire out of France.

I have a set of the AT2s for my Subaru and agree that this is an excellent tire, especially for the price. Liked them so much I got a set of Grabber HPs for another car and it's an awesome street tire.

Love my Duratracs, as long as they're touching dirt you won't get stuck in them (I may have axled out a few times in big*** ruts in the woods...)

20% savings helps me pay for my lift
I'm leaning towards the General Grabber AT2 as well. General Tire is now owned by Continental, the German Tire company. The Germans don't mess around when it comes to tires.

Fundamentally, I need a good performing tire for moderate offroading as well as in the snow and the Duratrac definitely meets that criteria. But, in reading reviews over at offroading.com, the AT2 is snow rated and studdable as well for 20% less than the Goodyear Duratrac.

Since I am trying to keep the costs down on the XJ lift, I most likely will go for the less expensive General Grabber and use the savings towards the next item on my lift list, the adjustable track bar !

Any question about tire choices should state what size the OP is planning on running and the intended use for the vehicle. If it is going to be a DD, with some mild wheeling a 31x10.50r15 General Grabbers would work fine. If your going to trim fenders to run 33x 12.50r15s and want to run tough trails. I would go with a tire that has a three ply sidewall BFG KM2s, Goodyear MTRs, Firestone Destination MTs, etc.
