Default Few more questions for a beginner

a friend of mine recommended that I cut the front off of my air filter housing to increase air flow. I did that, just wanted to make sure that there are no negative effects of doing this, other than making a loud sucking noise. I have another stock air box if it is recommended to put that back on.

Second, just looking in my fuse box for the first time and noticed that I have some open spots, just wondering if I am missing anything

Thanks

I believe the hole in the air box is substantially larger the opening at the throttle body at WOT......and the throttle body is probably 75% closed 99% of the time the motor is running so the air box is not a restriction. Your XJ may not have the items that the blank spots fuses/relays power.

Doesn't matter much one way or the other. The newer ones just have a hole cut in the front anyway. You just made it larger I assume?

yeah just cut the front off the box, making the hole bigger. If it doesnt do anything for it, ill probably use the stock box to make it quieter
