fender trimming

Engine: inline 6 4.0
fender trimming
im lost ive never trimmed fenders and i am getting flares that allow for up to 4 inches to be removed but i dont know where to cut them i will be using a cutoff tool. I also dont know the best way to keep them strong maybe weld somthing on the inside aswell as the seem let me know your experiences good,bad,ugly

The easiest way is that you leave half inch from the imaginary cutting line and bend it towards the inside, this will give it strength and protection. Trace the line with a marker and then tape it so you don't scar the paint with the cutting tool.
