Default Fender bender, axle moved

My brother's xj. 96.. 3 inch rusty lift. He was cruising around on the snow and hit a bus with his front passenger side.

A look underneath suggests that the control arms both have bent a bit, and probably their housing as well. Got him some new control arms and he is working on getting the old ones off now.

It is clear that the axle has shifted to the driver side since the collision, about 1 inch. How can we go about moving it back? I assume we need a new track bar?

ALso, how easy/important will it be to get the control arm brackets straightened?

His steering wheel of course is flipped upside down but we already figured out how to fix that one.

Maybe he should take a little break for a while.

It was the classic brand new driver, thinks he can save the world since he has a 4x4 and its snowing. The bus was stopped in the road but he couldn't stop in time, slid right into it. Regardless we are trying to fix his mistake

Attach a chain to the passenger side of the axle and the other end around a tree, pull with come-a-long, this is a mock up of what I'm talking about.

It's good to see I'm not the only one that held on to their matchboxes...
Love the USA stamping on it..

Just read up online that with a 3 inch lift, the axle will shift. Interesting we hadn't noticed it before.

It seems that the control arm brackets werent as bad as we thought. got the new control arms on and a buddy is giving us his stock track bar for free, so we will also replace that but I have a feeling that we may be golden after that.
