Fast Idle At Startup

Fast Idle At Startup
I have a 1987 Jeep Cherokee with 4.0L engine. The problem is that sometimes when I start it it'll idle at 2000 or higher rpms and won't idle down. I then have to shut it off and start again. What would cause this?
