Default fan vs. radiator= bad things

i hav had a problem lately of my cooling fan coming in contact with my radiator and putting holes in it. i removed the stock mechanical fan and installed a electric fan hoping to remedy this but with no luck the water pump pully still comes in contact with the elec. fan destroying one already. has anyone else had this problem and how did u fix it.

im goin to try and move the radiator foward some to fix this problem.

so i guess what my question is anyone esle who has had this problem and moved the rad. foward some how did u achive this? pics would be helpfull.

sorry for the long post

I've removed my mechanical fan, and rely on my existing AC fan for cooling. I plan to shortly fit a extra 10" fan in front of the rad. A previous car (non jeep) had 2 10" fans in front of the rad.

i would first figure out why your motor is that close to the radiator. that kind of movement is not normal

is it a 3 core radiator?? Check your motor mounts. Not much room to move the radiator, it has mounting holes in the bottom that fit over a post, i have noticed that some aftermarket clutch fans do not allow enough clearance.

Motor mounts are new.the first radiator it ruined was a 3 core and the second one was a stock radiator. I think I got it moved back far enough when I was working on it earlier. I redrilled the lower mounting hole back about 1in and was able to move the mounting hole in the upper support back about 3\4 of a inch. I now have about 2in where originally had about 7/8 of a inch between the radiator and the fan. So hopefully this fixes my problem.
