Default Fan keeps runing long after turnning off

I have 1999 jeep Cherokee 4.0L 144k miles. Lately I noticed that aux. fan keeps running long after I have turned off the engine. Checked the hose to the thermostat, feels very hard and hot as if pressure is building. I have noticed a very small leak starting on the hose beside the battery, from the radiator into the thermostat.

I am guessing I need to replace the thermostat, any suggestions!

Regards

i wouldn't think that its the thermostat cause mine got stuck and it never ran after i turned it off...... maybe its that wire connected to the housing being stuck?

I should have added the following information, when the engine is cold the aux fan does not run. After driving for 20 minutes the temp. guage is at 200F, and the aux fan runs.

Might be a relay problem

Sounds like your Tstat is stuck open, and/or the rad cap is to high a pressure. Normal temp is 210, 200 is a little low. Electric Fan sounds to opperating normally.
