What size is the quick disconnect tool for the trans line on the radiator, and does anyone have a write up for the fan clutch installation?

 

I don't know about the tool but the fan clutch is extremely easy. Take out the two bolts holding the fan shroud, take off the 4 bolts holding the fan clutch on the pulley, remove fan, fan clutch and fan shroud. Take off 4 bolts holding the fan to the old fan clutch and put the fan on new fan clutch with 4 bolts. Put fan, fan clutch and fan shroud and put em back in the same way you took em out

Also one more question is there a difference between the fan clutches on the cherokee's or are they all the same ?

 

Just find one either online or at your local auto parts store (yes, you want a new one), and give the specifics of your year, model and engine to make sure you get the right one. I'm not sure if they are all the same

 

The quick connect release tool usually come in a set of multiple sizes.

Yea I already got a new clutch from rockauto.com, and I ordered based on my model year etc.. but when I got the new clutch in the box had a sticker that said 87-93 xj 4.0L, so I was wondering if they are the same. Based on appearance everything looks identical.

 

3/8" IIRC.
just get the plastic assortment ti get it off then chop the disconnect off and push the hose on wtih a few hose clamps to hold it.
disconnects suck ****. dtich them as each one fails and don't look back. my 2 cents.
