I'm wanting to go back to a stock mechanical fan/ electric setup. I found a website that advertises a 2.5 fan. Did jeep use the same fan for both the 4cyl
and 6cyl?

No. Some folks use the 4-cyl fan clutch in their 6-cyls however because it's more "heavy-duty". The trade-off is a hit to your MPG.

You should be able to find both the mechanical fan clutch and e-fan on RockAuto for a surprisingly low price.
