Crap. Got a call from Midas today with the following message: You vehicle has failed the inspection due to a swiss cheese muffler and tailpipe and a fubar gas cap.

Amount Due: $384.

did you expect it to pass with a bad exhaust system?

should have spent the $40 and fixed it yourself

 

I expected it to pass. Had no idea there were holes on TOP of the exhaust. It needs replaced from downpipe to tailpipe. This includes muffler and cats. I know the guy there and he doesn't charge me labor so i told him to go ahead and fix it for me. I hurt my back last week and don't feel like crawling under there.

 

Youch a complete new exhaust well at least it won't need replacing for some time..I swear if oklahoma had an inspection half the cars ont he road would never pass..My buddies XJ has no cat at all and is straight pipe to the muffler then tail pipe..and he has no O2 sensor either..

We haven't had one for quite some time now...Our lovely oklahoma politicians decided it cost more then it was worth..lol Now a cop can still site you for improper equipment but I don't know to many cops that will climb under a car or open a hood to look for such things.. Makes it nice cause atm my ebrake isn't enabled..lol

I replaced my hole exhuast from the y pipe back for 200 bucks. 100 for the high flow cat, 86 for the Flowmaster 44, and then the rest was for the pipe I bought to do it. Or you could get a rust'ys bolt on kit that goes from the cat back for 150.

 

Illinois only tests smog in the 6-county insane asylum....

 

man i love michigan tho alot of people would fail cause of there systems rusting out up here lol

 

CO abolished the emissions tests last year. I like not having to take my Heep to the shop every year for a $20.00 test that I could do without. Thanks for pulling your heads out for a fresh breath, for once CO!!
