Ive been slowly upgrading and restoring an XJ that ip,picked up,a couple of months ago. One of the things that really bothered me was the way that all of the black toggle switches on the dash and door locks had faded to an ugly gray color.

Using an old trick that I learned about for restoring old test equipment, I wiped a little bit of petroleum jelly on the switches and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping off. The switches look like new now, shiny and black.

I did that more than a month ago, and they still look perfect.
