Hi guys, 99 XJ-JY has a gas tank skid for $100.

I understand I may need nutstrips to mount this, but perhaps not if I have a factory hitch. From getting my options sheet it appears originally I had neither a hitch nor any kind of towing package at all.

I do however currently have a MOPAR hitch that was apparently installed by a prior owner.

So do I need nutstrips or not?

Does the skidplate mount under the hitch bolts or below it or cannot you not have both at the same time?

If I need nutstrips can I get them out of the donor vehicle or are they "fished in"?

agreed, but I think they have it already removed.

 

From the looks of it you have the nut strips in there

you have the strips. skid goes over the hitch.
