From the bushwacker site:

Anybody know what lift they are using in this picture? This is more or less what Im trying to accomplish with my XJ, but Im not sure which lift I need to do it. Im going to be picking up a lift and some tires this month and I just want to get all my ducks in a row before I start spending money.

With the bushwackers I doubt it's more than 2-3" and I agree 32s.

Thats true, bushwackers do make lifts look bigger than they are.

So if I go with a 3 inch lift, am I going to have to cut the fenders to for a set of 32's to fit like that? And on that note, can a strong running but otherwise stock 4.0 even handle that kind of meat, or am I going to have to invest a little more there as well?

you will have to cut alot for 32's i would suggest 4.5" with 32's or 33's and still then you need to cut the fenders..... Also a stock 4.0 will handle that type of tire just fine, i run 33's on 3.07 gearing. I would HIGHLY suggest re gearing to a different gear ratio tho. 4.10's for a manual tranny, 4.56's for an auto.

do a search on here and you will find alot about 4.5" lifts

If you run bushwackers you have to cut fenders to make them fit, kinda the point of running bigger flares but you can use less lift. With 3" you could fit 32s easily with those flares maybe even 33s with the right bumpstops.

Actually this looks very similar to an xj quadratec did for one of their covers. It listed it as a 3" lift with 31s

The tires are 31's that I know cause the Xterrains don't come in a 32..

And I'd say 3" lift
