Factory Foglight Switch
I was browsing jeepsareus.com and came across this.
http://www.jeepsareus.com/Merchant2/..._Code=CHEROKEE
Is that all I would need to get the switch to work with aftermarket lights. I saw several kit like things on jeepsareus but one was like well over 100 bucks. This seems more in range of what I'm looking for.

Looks like it would work!
I just picked up a set of lights from harbor freight and the switch that came with it fit right into the spot right next to the defroster (i would assume it would be for the fog lights)

Factory fog lights were wired through the headlights as well. It would only allow the fogs on when you had low beams. If you switched to high beams the fogs would automatically be switched off. Just so you know that.

Would this apply if I was only wiring the foglight switch to aftermarket lights??

I hated the little green switch that came with my hella 500s so.....
My jeep didnt come with factory headlights. I just wired the Hella as per the instructions to come on with High beams.
Then I got a factory switch from a jeep at the junkyard for $5 and just mounted it and put it in the loop.
Using this method I can get:
High Beams with Fog lights (normal, leaving the switch on)
Low Beams without Fog lights (normal, leaving the switch on)
High Beams without Fog lights (flip the switch off)

I choped my factory foglights and wired my Pro Comp Explorers directly to the factory wiring. They are controled via the fog light switch and yes I know that I cant use highbeams and them at the same time, but these are 100w and I figure this will keep my from possibly draining the battery.

you could also use a multi meter on the switch to find the input and output for the switch and wire your own lights off the output to a relay then to the lights. then go back and find a switched 12volt and use that for your input so it will only work when the key's are in the acc or run position and it would turn them off when the key was out and you would also be able to use the switch like normal just a thought
