Im trying to get a black door handle (exterior) and the few ive tried to take off but when I try to take the nuts off on the back of the door handles (thru the back of the door) but when I do the rusty bolt breaks off every time........can that bolt be pulled out of the back of the handle so I can replace it ?

Try some penetrating oil. Those studs are brass or bronze (at least all the ones I've encountered are), I've broken a couple myself. What's really aggravating is when you have your newly-salvaged handle installed with the linkages connected and you snap that last stud. And no, they can't be removed as they're molded into the plastic handle body.

Good luck!
