Hello everybody!!!

Well my situation is im about to give my jeep a lift of about 3.5" Never really done this before but im ready for the task at hand. My question was do i need extended brake lines? Front? Rear? Both? I wasn't sure and would rather have some advice from anybody else who has done plenty of lifts.

Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!!!

 

I have 4.5" and my fronts are fine I just un bolted them from the frame. On the rear it could probably be fine but too close for comfort for me, but at 3.5" don't worry about it

 

I've heard you can run front lines off a Chevy pickup and the rear line off a Dodge Dakota, but I forget what years and whether they need to be 4x4, 4x2, etc... maybe someone in here can clarify.

I need to get some extended lines as well, gonna be running a similar sized lift and I'd rather spend $50 on new brake lines and be safe than just hope that the stockers are long enough. I've heard that if you flex out the suspension a 3" lift is a good point to start looking at longer lines. Better safe that sorry.

 

I would go ahead and replace them. It is pretty cheap and its piece of mind knowing your not going to be stretching brake lines.
YJ brakelines on the front, 4" longer than stock.
Dakota(95-00) softline in the rear, 6" longer than stock.

You should but if you keep your sway bars connected, you won't have any issues.

^that is not a smart idea...You MIGHT get away with it IF your front sway is still connected, but you're really cutting it close. Flexing the hard line over and over is a never a good idea...

Go outside, disconnect your sway and flex it in a ditch, then turn your wheel hard over, I bet you could ****** your lines apart.
