My '96 Cherokee suddenly had the headlights stop working. I've checked all the fuses in the fuse block and the PDC and they are all fine. The parking lights work and the interior lights work too. I can turn the light switch and the dash lights dim too. When I flip the brights, the lights do light but when I release it, it goes back to dark.

I'm stumped. I have the FSM, but I've tried everything it says except replace the headlamp switch and trace out the wires.

Based on what I've listed can anyone give me a clue as to whats up? If its the headlight switch would the interior lights dim and the parking lights work?

Circuit breaker for the headlights is in the switch. Yes, the interior lights would still work.

 

I assume the circuit breaker isn't replaceable? I'd need to replace the switch right?
