40 series is a great idea and I wanted to do the same thing but went with a cherry bomb turbo instead mainly because it was half the price lol It sounds pretty good and I like it compared to my glass pack. The flowmaster is definitely the better choice though

I'd say patience and some pb blaster. I didn't have pb or patience so I cut it as close as I could to the muffler joint.

i had to cut mine off. mine came welded completly from the factory. just take a sawzall to it. as close to the stock muffler as you can. for a flowmaster it has a nice rumbble at idle and is quiet till you hit at 3k rpms then it sounds decent. i have one.. and personaly i like it from just cat back.

Definitely take it out first. I left mine in while I cut the muffler off and it got too hot from the heat transfer from the blade to the pipe and it burnt out and my check engine light came on. I still haven't replaced it and that was last July lol. Just be as careful as you can when you do this. Be extremely patient and cut slowly and stop in between if you need to. It's better to take your time now so you don't screw something up later on.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. What do you guys think about replacing that Cat? Any downside to leaving the OEM on or should I cut it off too and get a high flow Cat-back?

dynomax has a lot of rebates on their exhaust systems.
