i was looking at this to but i figure i would wait. if your tight on money just get a flowmaster and weld it on the stock pipe. them wait for some extra money and redo the entire thing thats what im going to do.

 

Was just thinkin' the same thing... It's not one of the stupid laws either. It's a health/safety issue.

 

what about georgia mine is just a cat and no muffler i love the way it sounds i got some fools who know nothing about xjs fooled they think its a diesel

 

I failed my inpsection cause of a turn down. I was told out the rear or side exit is ok.

 

yea something to get it louder. it just seems to quiet

 

really. ill have to check into that im in illinois. i could take it out the side i just need a 45 degree elbow. but still something to get it louder

 

read hte wording. in texas, the exhaust must exit past the last opening to the cabin. which means past the rear doors windows for me. on my 79 chevy stepside, it exited right out from under the back of the cab with straight pipes. it sounded badass!!!

but yes, safety reasons. exhaust gas being circulated into the cabin is not so good. first the headaches, then being tired, then you crash and kill someone. and you know that xjs are getting scarce so losing one for a bad reason is even worse then losing one to rust or something. plus losing people who like them is bad too

 

so i should figure out a way to make a full exhaust that sounds awesome. can i add you?

 

in my part of georgia there are no inspections....and the only time they even look at your ride is if its fogging the place with smoke (and im talkin lots of it) or if somethings draggin the ground
