Exhaust Mounts
I know a few members here have done custom side dumps for their exhaust so they don't have to run it all the way to the back of the truck.
I'd like to do this as well, but I'm having trouble with the mounts.
I'm wondering how to keep the muffler, cat, and piping hung from the bottom of the truck.
Normally there is a bar coming off the exhaust tube that gets pushed into some kind of rubber mount. Since I'm going to be doing custom exhaust work, I won't be using the factory mounts.
Can I just weld a bar directly to the frame? I'm concerned with vibrations becoming really loud if its solid mounted to the truck.
Does anyone have experience or knowledge with this setup?
Pics are appreciated.
