Exhaust leak?
Went to go start my xj this morning started fine but instantly it didn't sound right. Sounded like a Honda, started driving down the street and the sound didn't get better. Did what I had to do came home and parked the car. 30mins later went to go start it and it took me like 7,8 times to crank over. There was a rattle underneath then it went away. Can it be a clogged converter?

The rattle and sound it's making could either be a clogged/broken cat or a busted muffler. In both cases the insides break away from the metal and shake around inside, the cat would cause more of a problem though. Neither of those should affect it starting though. A clogged cat might cause it to idle weird and run rough but wouldn't stop it from starting.
