Default EVAP leak detected (large leak)



When I bought the jeep it had this code. My initial thought was "okay, it's the gas cap". So I did check the gas cap and the seal is totally rotted and falling apart, so I replace it. Probably thinking it will fix the problem. It did not fix the problem. All of the hoses that I can see for EVAP look fairly new and in good condition. Is there anything else this can be ? Any help is appreciated as always thank you

If you have not done so you might check the metal line (looks like oversize metal brake line) that comes off the roll over valve on the top of the tank. They rust.

I know you said the EVAP hoses looked good, but I had a similar issue and my hoses looked good. But, after feeling around I found that one of the hoses that attached to the charcoal canister near the gas tank was cracked on top (i.e., the side you can't see from the ground). I replaced that line and my code went away.
