Hey all,

A few days ago my 01 XJ threw a CEL, took it to get read and it came back as a small EVAP leak. Checked the gas cap and it seemed ok. Didn't think too much else of it because I was on my way out of town and wouldn't be driving it until I got back. Today got in it and took it on a long interstate drive and noticed a few issues.

1. Cruise control can't hold speed. Light comes on, it tries to keep the throttle open but the poor little guy just can't do it.

2. HVAC blows very little through main vents, most air comes out through defrost vents.

Looked up these two issues and found that its a pretty good indicator of a vacuum problem. So my question is, could the cruise control/HVAC vacuum issue be related to the EVAP code? It's entirely possible they started at the same time and I just didn't notice the a/c issue until today (spring has arrived in force).

Maybe it's wishful thinking hoping that I can fix all three problems in one go, but thought I'd ask. If they are related (or even if they aren't) where do I go from here?

I would bet they are related, parts of the evap system are vacuum operated too.
