Ev1.3 should be a bit better than the OEM injectors, All things being equal, but if you are pulling out a set of 18 year old OEM injectors to replace with 15 year old second hand injectors that have been sitting in a junk yard- for how long? well who knows? The injectors pretty much cost the same so you may as well get the good ev6 injectors.

Errr..... no.
Whole point of the post is to suggest appropriate plug and play injectors.

The big yards I go in have a pretty high turnover so it's rare for cars to be there more than a few weeks. Sometimes they come and go in less than a week....I'll have to do some more snooping and experimenting. Luckily I live near 5 HUGE salvage yards and can go in an poke and pull at things. I saw the thinner looking injectors on 3 mid-late 90's Neons and they all had different electrical plugs than my 1994 Cherokee. Only the '95 Neon with the fatter 280150965 injectors were a straight swap out for mine plug wise.

i think it's better to get them from that ebay guy. i walked a JY for hours and didn't find the ones that i needed. besides even a JY charges about 5 bucks per injector. the ebay guy charges 35 bucks for six and you ain't gotta get dirty looking for them. and i think he tests them with ohm-meter. i'm really happy with mine. my two cents.

Depends on the yard I guess. The places I go to are as big as a mall parking lot and the cars are sorted by make. Plus there's 5 of them in the area that large. I get dirty at work all day since I sell tractor trailer parts anyway. I can use an ohm-meter. And I get them for free at the junkyard since I sell them all the parts for their wreckers and dozers. They`ll look the other way if I want something small. Couldnt carry out a bumper or anything though. Plus I`m still puzzling over the electrical plugs as all the EV6 ones I`ve seen seem to have a different plug than my 94 Cherokee has.

if i were you, i'd grab one of my own injectors, calipers and an ohm meter and head to the JY, check the plug with your own injector against the neon harness, measure the diameter of your injector where the o-ring sits, compare against the neon injector, compare the ohms, and if they match, try them out.

Xjs had the same injector plugs, EV1/Jetronic/minitimer from 87-98, Then they when to USCAR from 99-01.
The neons went from EV1 connectors to USCAR in 1998. I belive somtime 1995 they went from EV1.3 Fatboy injectors, to the all plastic "stick" EV6 injector-but kept the old electrical connector.
-Hope that is not confusing.
In Australia different cars can have different looking injector loom plugs, radically so, yet still be a EV1.3 plug. I can only imagine is is the same there.
We never got neons till the 2000's Hence have never seen a neon EV1 connector, and don't know how similar or otherwise they are to jeep injector loom plugs.

OK this is not so much you red as the last 20 posts on this thread.
If you use injectors with the right part numbers, cast on the side of the injector, for your application it will work / fit, right ohms, spray pattern, everything. Plug and play.
If you use injectors with different part numbers well..........who knows what will happen.

A side note though, these are not 4 hole injectors, they are single hole design but they are EV6 and should have good atomization compared to the originals.

+1, I just put some on my 91, and Im on my first tank of gas, so we will see, so far the things I have noticed is a little better throttle response, nothing drastic, but its nice gain for only 35 bucks

i put the 0280 155 784 in my '99 about a month ago. now my XJ never sees 3 grand, but when it does, you can tell a little bit of a difference. but i have so many mods, that i can't tell you which one contributed the most. one main thing that i noticed with the injectors was that, my mpg indicator didn't like sticking around single digits no more. and on the highway, it doesn't like staying in the teens. i don't give much gas to take off, and by the time i've gone about 50 yards, my mpg reader is already between 13-18, depending on the steepness and temperature.
