Default Error code evap purge fix

I got a check engine light, I checked the code (I dont remember the number) and it was the fuel evap purge failure. I replaced the solenoid, dielectric grease on every connector I could find. The hard lines coming out of the canister seemed fine but there were a couple of spots where there is a rubber hose connection off the plastic lines. I replaced those. Also checked the lines near the fuel tank. It took a couple of days but the check engine light shut off

I had the same engine code and problem. One thing worth noting is that immediately before the CEL light came on, I started the car and I heard a peculiar sound that sounded almost as if the engine "sneezed".

I inspected the lines, and it was a rubber elbow connector from one of the lines that was dry-rotted. See pic below for location.

I replaced it with a generic 1/4" PCV elbow connector from Autozone, and cleared the code. That resolved the issue immediately. Though this may not be your issue, it seems like the most common culprit of this code.
