engine trouble
I am having problems with my engine staying running. I took the column out thinking it was the ignition switch on top of it and it ended up not being that. It would stay running as long as you had the starter running at the same time. but as soon as you turn the key back off the starter and to the on possition it would suddenly die. Any one have any ideas on what could be causing my problems i have a 90 xj two door 5 speed. any imput would help me alot

that sounds like you're engine isn't running nothing to do with the ignition switch. Check the plugs and back along with all the sensors, from your crank shaft to your oil pressure. It's usually a specific part that is causing it and you just need to find out which one. Time for a weekend of beer, pizza, and buddies to play Q and A with your engine.
well i found today that i kept revving it past 5 when the starter was on and then turn the switch to on, and twice it stayed running, and the rest of the time it didn't
