Default Engine swaping

Alright so yesterday while i was working my second shift (deliver pizza on the weekends for some straight cash) my engine totally **** the bed on me. I couldn't get much of a look to see what actually happened but the small river of oil and antifreeze was a clear statement.

My friend has a parts jeep but it's an 88 or 89 and i was just wondering if the engines could be swapped no problem. I've never done a job like this so my jeep is at my friends shop. I just need to get everything in order by monday so i can get this job moving.

I'm hoping his engine will fit fine because he's only charging me $100 for it, and i have bills i need to pay off =/.

Thanks for any help. I'll be seeing my friend with the parts jeep in a few hours so I'll confirm the year when i know.

You'd be going from a High Output engine to a Renix engine, which is a downgrade. You would need the Renix computer and possibly the wiring harness, but I don't know because I've never done it. The intake and exhaust manifolds are different because the head is different. But, will it physically fit...yes.

From what I've read, you can take your HO head and bolt it onto the Renix motor than use all your HO top end parts.. Simple enough.
