engine swap problem need help
hey guys i just bought a 2 door 4x4 that had a blown motor and i'm swapping them. but any suggestions on how to get to the 2 12 point star looking bolts on the top on the tranny? i want to disconnect it so i dont have to deal with pulling the tranny too.

Lowering the trany down is the only way I have found it to be any easier,other than that,alot of exstensions and someone up top to guide you into place. Lowering the trany is realy not that bad.

Go to Sears, you need an E-12 external torx socket.
Support the trans with a jack, then drop the crossmember and lower the jack some to get a better angle. Use a few extensions and get the two top bolts off. Leave the two largest bolts in bellhousing till last, they are loacted at 3 and 9'oclock on the bellhousing.
