Hey guys, Been a while since I posted, I need help. Im doing my engine swap this week. I need advice as far as what are the best parts to buy. Maybe best place to buy. And what else im missing.
I have a 97 XJ Country, getting an engine from a 96 xj automatic.

1. Serpentine Belt
2. Motor Mount
3. Spark Plug
4. spark plug wires
5. fuel pressure regulator

 

Plugs, wires, cap and rotor from Napa. Get their Premium stuff.

Why a fuel pressure regulator?

 

Wasn't 1996 a split year for the FPR on the fuel rail and FPR in the tank with the pump?

If you're keeping your '97's ECU/PCM use the fuel rail too. No need for a vacuum FPR

 

I just finished and engine swap and this is the list of things that I had to and just bought. Yours may not need all of these

Freeze Plugs
Heater Core Houses
Valve Cover Gasket
Oil Filter O-Orings (replace this while engine is out) You will thank yourself later
Fuel rail quick disconnect o-rings
CPS (the wires looked bad on mine)
Plugs,Wires,Cap, Button
Oil Filter/ Oil
3/8 Gear wrench (for getting the top two bolts out of bell Housing)
Motor Mounts
Belt
PCV Valve
Air Filter
Manifold Gaskets
(Check your exhaust manifold for leaks while you have it out)
Thermostat
