Engine Swap
Hey everyone I just recent got a hold of a 89 Jeep Cherokee Limited. I love the Jeep, shes going to be a fun project. Right off the bat I need to do an engine and tranny swap.. I was wondering what years I could look at to get a direct swap, and make the project a little easier. Im fairly new to the whole auto mechanic game, so any advice, tips or tricks would be appreciated! Thanks so much in advance, and I look forward to getting in touch with other cherokee owners and keeping you all posted on the project.

Welcome to CF!
You can install 87-91 motors in it no problem. You can also install 92 and up motors with some modifcations. Here is a write up on doing the HO swap it should be on the second page. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/cr...x-tips-153657/
