Engine stuck at wide open throttle
Today I was replacing my exhaust manifold, engine mounts, valve cover gasket and was going to change my oil but for some reason when i start my 94 xj it goes to wide open throttle and I have to shut it off. Has anyone had this issue or have any ideas?

You said you replaced your exhaust manifold. Did you get a new gasket? If so was it the correct gasket? You may have accidently installed the gasket wrong or gotten the older style. If im not mistaken the older renix manifold gasket ports wont line up correctly. I may be wrong but its a start.

Not really I wouldn't think so. If you don't have any vacuum lines off then id say the intake isn't seated properly. Did you have the fuel rail off the intake? You may have a fuel injector o-ring missing where they go into the intake.

I did take the fuel rail off, inspected all orings and lubed before putting back in, I have unplugged each injector 1 at a time to see if its a bad injector and this changed nothing so I dont think its injectors. I looked at the gasket when I put it on and everything seemed to line up great. I will try the hand over throttle body later. I would love to use the starting fluid method but like I said as soon as it starts it accelerates to wot and I have to imediatly kill the motor. Its snowing today and cold as the poles. Thanks for all your help guys.

teejay64,
you have cruise control on your model?
if so, disconnect the speed control module under the lower dash panel, not the intermittent wiper module the speed control module.....
then start the jeep. if it no longer goes to WOT then replace your speed control module.
just a suggestion
