I have a 96 Cherokee sport with the 4l and ax15 the jeep runs fine but when engine braking down a hill, when the clutch is applied the engine stalls I recently put a full exhaust on it and the problem continues anyone have any ideas what it could be?

 

If you have a symptom while braking and not otherwise, I would suspect the power brake booster and hoses. Check closely for leaking hose, the booster can just fail in this way.

 

Where is the booster located because I'm not leaking brake fluid or powersteering fluid I checked both because I thought it might have something to do with something off the belt. Would air filter or spark plugs have anything to do with this??
