Default Engine shut off mid cruise

Went for a saturday drive and suddenly lost power. All my electronics still had power but my engine did not. After letting it sit for a bit i got it to turn back over. Where should i start?

Always the first question. Sometimes there are pending codes too. I'd put a code reader on it.

A fail like this can be related to an intermittent crankshaft position sensor. It is an extremely common failure on the 4.0 engine. They can be tested but testing when the engine runs would likely be of no value.

If you replace, do yourself a favor and purchase a genuine Mopar sensor. Aftermarket crank sensors are very "hit and miss" with a lot of miss.

Lots of threads on this sensor. Search for some light reading.
