Hey everyone, newbie here and first time jeep owner. I just purchased a 2000 cherokee sport with 167,000 on her. She runs great and after unclogging the heater core the heater works awesome. The only other problem I noticed before to my big purchase was the radio. With the key in the on position (engine not running) the radio works (receptions not the greatest but acceptable). As soon as I start the engine the radio acts like there isn't an antenna hooked up, reception is really staticky. Has anyone else had this problem? Or any ideas on a fix. I purchased the jeep for my oldest son who turns 16 in a couple of weeks and would love to have her all fixed up when we surprise him. Thanks for the help.

 

Body ground strap connected ?

Just to give an update, today I took the cherokee to an audio shop turns out the radio was faulty. So we had a new one installed and everything works great. Thanks
