Default Engine quits when it reaches operating temp

I'm new to this forum. Searched the FAQs, but couldn't find a similar problem.

I recently replaced the head gasket on my '88 Pioneer. She ran fine for about 40 miles at highway speeds, then died. When it cooled off it ran fine until it reached operating temp, then died.

It continues to act like this, runs fine until warmed up then dies. Restarts and runs when cooled off.

I checked fuel pressure at the rail and it remained good. I swapped out the ICM with a used one and the problem still exists. I hooked up a timing light to check spark when the engine dies, but spark remained until the engine sputtered to a stop. The fuel pump was replaced earlier this year because of a similar problem.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

When I pulled the CPS, I discovered that about 2" of the insulation has deteriorated and exposed bare wires. Probably the solution to my problem. I'll be getting another CPS tomorrow.

Check the ohms at the MAT sensor. It should read around 4000 at operating temp and steadily drop off if its good.If it dont then replace it.About $20 at AZ.
