i have a 91 xj with a new radiator,thermostat,and electric fan that is wired to run all the time but it still gets too hot. should i pull the water pump and check it?

 

You say your electric fan is wired to run all the time,I have to ask this question,is it running backwards by chance. Is your mechanical fan working right?
You can actually pinch the upper hose once the thermostate opens up and feel if the water pump is flowing,pinch it enough to restrict the flow.

 

the fan is spinning the right way. i will try pinching the hose. when the cap is off it doesnt seem to be circulating very well

 

if its not circulating well then your rad is prolly clogged, when you replace the rad you might as well do it all while you are in there
