Default Engine is not cranking, no fuel pressure

Hii Jeepers,

This is my first 4wd xj 2000 American spec. I live in dubai.. very new to xj.

My xj is not cranking at all... thought it was battery... tried jumping the battery... still no crank...

When I turn the key battery needle stays between 11-12.

I believe my battery is weak and a cheap quality one as it was bought 10 months due to a dead battery...

I recently had issues of late engine starting.... I had to turn the key on/off 2-3 times or crank 3 times for starting the engine... so was advised by mechanic my fuel pump is weak..

Last week I did a steam wash also.. but didn't show any issues... I checked all fuses... all good.

I don't know what's wrong... 🤔

Please help me with some guidance... I will be taking my jeep to mechanic by recovery now...

Appreciate if anyone can guide, so I can ask the mechanic to check the same..
Thanks in advance 🚙

My old '98 had a long start up. I found that if you prime the system 3 times it would start right up. Did that for 8 years.

Good to hear.
The starter on my 91 acted up. If you tapped it, it would start. Well, one day it finally died. I had to change it in the rain. Not fun.

Welcome and great to see you already fixed an issue! If you have voltage in the battery the starter should at least TRY to start even if it sounds weak. No attempt to crank sounds like a bad starter for sure!
