Default Engine miss

I was wondering if anyone else has tried this when they've had a miss when they first start up. Just had it happen about an hour ago. Got in the vehicle and started it right away. Had a miss at idle and at a bit of throttle. Shut it off and before trying to start it again I waited for the battery and check engine lights to go off. Started it and the miss was gone. This has happened no more than 5 or 6 times since I've had the vehicle and everytime it's when I don't wait for those lights to go out. Happened only once to my wife when she forgot to wait. No check engine light ever comes on and no codes are ever tripped. One more thing is it doesn't matter if the engine is cold or hot.

Sounds like the PCM is getting tired. Or it's waiting for the CCD Bus to make up its mind what to do next.

"Or it's waiting for the CCD Bus to make up its mind what to do next."

So you could be interupting some process?
It's been yrs since this has happened but I consider it my fault. What do think of this explaination? When my son had an aftermarket computer and chip installed in his 360 Dodge Ram he was told to wait for whatever dash lights come on to go out before starting. They sold an optional light but the tech said to just use the dash lights. He told my son that if you try to start the vehicle before the system is done it's scan that this can happen. My son told me and the first time the miss happened waiting was the cure. So you wait what 3 seconds? Thought maybe it would help someone.

I always turn the key to run and listen for the fuel pump to prime, watch all the advisory lists come on and go off (AB 8 seconds), see if the voltmeter and fuel gauge come to life, then crank the engine.
